Philip Ball Science Writer and Book Author
CLIENT: Philip Ball, freelance science writer
Philip Ball is a freelance science writer. He worked previously at Nature for over 20 years. First as an editor for physical sciences (for which his brief extended from biochemistry to quantum physics and materials science) and then as a Consultant Editor. His writings on science for the popular press have covered topical issues ranging from cosmology to the future of molecular biology and how life works.
REQUIREMENTS:
Philip needed one central place to store all his articles in document form, available to download. Displaying all his books and publications, news of upcoming talks and presentations. He wanted the ability to add all these items to the site himself when he found time in his busy schedule.
WEB SOLUTION:
A simple airy design. Joomla! was the content management software used, but a major update to his website later, made use of WordPress. I supplied an extensive training ‘manual’ including screenshots specifically of the areas of administration he needed. This was all done via pdfs and email.
WEB SERVICES:
Design, hosting, maintainance, back ups
