High monthly fees – Yell websites monthly maintenance is £40+ per month (inclusive of VAT). There is also an initial build fee to pay upwards from £499 (excluding VAT). Prices are correct as of 2019.

You never own the website – Ownership of the website belongs to Yell not the customer. If you stop making the monthly payments then you lose the website. Yell websites cannot be transferred.

 

Websites are made using generic templates – Yell websites are made using a platform that is not as popular as WordPress which is the most popular platform in the world.

 

Unresponsive websites – In other words they are not really mobile friendly. Yell have two versions of your website; one for PCs and the other for portable devices. Websites must be responsive; one website that adapts according to the device it is being viewed on, otherwise Google penalise you.
